     Constructing the brief
My intention for this assignment is to produce a retail store for androgynous clothing. Fashion is in a constant state of flux, ever-changing and repetitive. Clothing stores specifically designed to sell androgynous wear are uncommon; there is often a separation or categorisation between womenswear and menswear. A non gender specific clothing line is an innovative notion which thereby allows for a wider demographic. From these ideas, I extracted and explored the reoccurring theme of intertwining - the intertwining of fabrics, materials and genders. I want to create a space which reflects this style and also the industrial appearance of Tory Street. The spatial concept will encourage me to design a feature or installation piece that is aesthetically pleasing and functional. I will use this structure as well as lighting to present the customers with a new experience and evoke an emotional response from the observer.

Things to consider:
- Spatial concept (intertwining)
- Interactivity/ engagement
- Lighting
- Existing condition of site
- Sustainability, recycle
- Navigation, planning
- How the store addresses the customer from the exterior
- Service
- Range (limited or well selected)
- Permanent versus temporary
- Acoustic quality
- History (industrial, construction)

Clothing retail store checklist:
- Stairs (easy accessibility)
- Entrance
- Product, shelving units
- Counter
- Staff space
- Bathroom, WC
- Storage
- Changing rooms
